CPD @ Law Society of Western Australia - What's new?

Welcome to the first Law Society WA Bolg!

As your Manager Professional Development and Education I will update this Blog regually to keep everyone up-to-date, informed and entertained as we experience our first mandatory CPD year together. I expect the adventure will be an exciting one.

What are we doing that is different?

  • We have this blog - it is free for everyone to use, so have your say.

  • We will be launching our new Learning Management System very soon (eLearning)

  • I will be visiting Bunbury soon to discuss the pilot of four Video Conferences.

  • We will have over 50 seminars to be presented in Perth for you to enjoy.

  • Most seminars will be filmed and made available to you.

Keep your eye out for our full CPD year calendar of learning events. Visit our website to enrol in one of our many seminars.

Cheers

:-)

Dear Max, thanks for being our very first blog participant. We have people looking and hopefully they too will reply to our posts.
Cheers

Terrific service thanks Law Society! I hope members use it to the max! (apologies to the first commentator!).
One thing on CPD - The Legal Practice Board has adopted excessively strict criteria for CPD recognition which seems more aimed at revenue raising than raising levels of professional development. Law Society needs to press the Board to recognise a wider range of professional participation for CPD such as on law society technical committees.

Thanks Beacon,
The Law Society aims to make our quality CPD learning events accessible to everyone at an affordable price.
Technology is always challenging and it is only now in 2008 we can really use it as a vehicle to communicate and teach effectively. We hope that our programs will 'speak for themselves' and that everyone will see 'max' benefit (sorry max).
Thanks for your comment! Cheers Julia
